We’re delighted to host the screening of Sex Work: It’s Just a Job, a new documentary that argues for the decriminalisation of sex work, set in the US. We will be joined by Alex Vitale, best-selling author of The End of Policing and the film’s co-producer. The film by Tami Kashia Gold (producer, director and writer) is inspired by Alex’s best-selling book, The End of Policing, that looks at the harms caused by policing and state social control, and examines safety-led alternatives. Following the screening, we’re delighted to be joined by the following guests for a Q&A panel, with:
Alex Vitale, professor of sociology at Brooklyn College and the City University of New York Graduate Center.
Sarah Dorman, activist and founder member of Decrim Now, a coalition of sex worker led and civil society groups who advocate for the full decriminalisation of sex work in the UK.
molly ackhurst, lecturer in Criminology at the University of Greenwich, with over a decade of experience in sexual violence support.
The screening is shown in collaboration with Netpol, The Policing and Social Justice Project at Brooklyn College, Justice, Communities, Activism & Conflict Research Group at Lsbu & Feminist Fightback.
