FILM & TV LOCATION ASSISTANT Intensive Training (one-day course)
The Film and TV Industry is booming and there is a huge nationwide demand for crew, particularly in the Location Department. If you would like to learn what’s involved in being a LOCATION ASSISTANT, there is no better time for us to teach you what we know.
The Location Assistant Intensive Training course will be taught by Location Managers Claire and Faye Newton, who are industry professionals and co-founders of www.liverpoollocations.com. Between them they have over 42 years experience in the industry, working with global clients such as Disney, Warner Brothers, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, HBO to name but a few.
A Location Assistant is an important member of the location team representing the location department on set. They liaise with every department helping them with all aspects of the day to day running of the film set.
The Location Department is dynamic, exciting and can lead to a fulfilling career in the Film and TV industry. Locations is an essential part of the overall film making process as we are involved with every department, in all stages of production. From script breakdown, location scouting, working with directors, designers, down to the logistical and detailed planning of the shoot. On a daily basis we work with the film crew, councils, public, home owners, businesses, police, security, highways and the list goes on.
We are keen ambassadors of the Location Department and our one-day intensive course will provide both THEORY and PRACTICAL learning to help and support you in your potential career within the industry.
This course is the first of many that will run throughout 2022. The spaces on each course are limited to 16, this will allow for an opportunity to talk directly to ourselves (Claire & Faye) gaining invaluable feedback and on-the-job knowledge. This course is ideal for anyone interested in becoming a member of the Location team and is suitable for all ages and backgrounds as no experience is necessary.
Our aim on completion of the course is to equip you with the information and tools to be ‘set-ready’ and feel confident stepping onto a filming location.
