Event description

Description

Payments keep the world working by facilitating an exchange of value. We rely on different payment methods to pay our mortgage, transfer money, buy goods and services and engage in countless day-to-day transactions, a process we often take for granted. There are few things more fundamental to the lives of consumers and businesses, so developments within this industry impact all of us.

The UC Berkeley Haas Alumni Club and Kellogg Alumni Club of London jointly invite you to explore this interesting topic with Alumni and Guests. Join us for an evening of conversation with industry insiders from one of the most exciting and rapidly evolving areas within Fintech.

Our panel will discuss a range of topics in Payments, including:

  • A brief overview of Payments and their evolution in various parts of the world, especially Europe and Asia

  • The rise of regional competitors to Visa and MasterCard

  • Regulation and their impacts on the cost of payments

  • Mobile payments in the developing world

  • Future trends and business implications
