About this event

Running a small business is exciting, but let’s be honest, for some of us finance and tax can feel tricky or overwhelming. If that’s you, don’t worry, you are not alone. This relaxed session is all about making sense of it in a friendly, no pressure way.

Stephanie Vaughan, Chartered Accountant and founder of Vaughan Chartered Accountants, will walk us through the essentials with a no jargon approach and tips that actually make sense for small and micro businesses.

We will cover:

  • Choosing the right business structure, self employed or limited company
  • What counts as a business expense and how to keep track
  • Simple ways to stay on top of your records and bookkeeping
  • Understanding tax and how to pay yourself
  • Your questions answered, this is a rare chance to have a professional accountant in front of you for 1.5 hours and ask anything you need, nothing is too small or silly

Plus:

  • Tea, coffee or a beer and a little chocolate treat on arrival
  • Time to meet and chat with other small business owners in a friendly, supportive space at Storybox
  • Special discounts in the shop on the night
