Councillors have a responsibility regarding the handling of Public Money. Local councils must manage their activities within their set budget. Financial budgeting and internal control of the accounts requires a corporate approach that is subject to strict and detailed statutory requirements and proper practices.
The training course is aimed at new councillors, councillors wishing to expand their knowledge on financial matters as well as those who are on Finance Committees.
The course will cover financial information relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, procurement contracts and financial audit.

The Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Association of Local Councils is a membership organisation serving Parish, Town and Community Councils throughout the County of Buckinghamshire.
