About this event

Business • Non Profit

Join us for an introduction to Shared Interest and our pioneering co-operative model, which has remained central to our work since our founding in 1990. We will share examples of co-operatives we have supported around the world, followed by a live Q&A with Koolskools - a UK-based ethical school uniform supplier built on a Fairtrade model that promotes transparency and fairness throughout its supply chain.

Based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom, Shared Interest is a leading social lender, supporting 166 fair trade organisations from 47 countries with £42 million in financial disbursements last year.

Event host, Sally Seddon, took on the role of Partnership Manager in 2022 to focus on identifying potential strategic partnerships to support both Shared Interest Society and its charitable arm, Shared Interest Foundation. Her areas of focus are currently climate change, gender equality and technical assistance, but her work encompasses all areas of the organisation's strategic direction. Sally has been working at Shared Interest since 2008.
