Event description
This workshop aims to help us learn ‘not to act’ but to be our authentic selves, with greater awareness and skill!

About this Event

Do you occasionally feel you are not fully present, personally or professionally? Are you playing a ‘role’ in life, rather than ‘being real’? Do you sometimes find your sense of authority fading as you speak?

This workshop aims to help us learn ‘not to act’ but to be our authentic selves, with greater awareness and skill!

Who this workshop is for

• Arts therapists, counsellors and other health professionals who are creating/looking for their first jobs

• More experienced professionals whose anxiety can impede authentic communication

• Other professionals who would like support in taking ‘the next step’

The how and the what

• Develop trust in self and others through gentle and creative activities

• Find and stand your own ground, drawing on Boal’s image theatre, Campbell’s ‘Hero’s Journey’ and Dixon and Franklin-Baker’s ‘Interconnectivity through play and drama’

• Develop your vision through short individual performance pieces, supported by the group and facilitators

• Plan to integrate the learning into your life

When? Saturday February 1st 2020, 10.00am-5.00pm
