𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆

Come and explore what makes you funny in this one day workshop hosted by Marny Godden.

This workshop isn't about putting on face paint, big floppy shoes and joining the circus. Neither is it about crafting witty punchlines and clever ideas. This is about exploring what it is that makes you uniquely funny, from the inside out.

We may be relying on what we think is funny about us but getting no laughs. Through clowning we come to realise that what's funny about us comes out of the moment, not from any preconceived ideas.

Sometimes we have an impulse to say or do something but a little voice inside our head stops us. "Don't do that, you'll look stupid." But in doing so we lose our childlike sense of play. Clowning is the antidote to this. You'll be encouraged to follow your impulses and embrace being as stupid as possible! This is where you lose yourself and find yourself... and have fun in the process.

In this workshop you'll be guided through a series of fun games and exercises using your body, voice and imagination. They are all designed to unlock your natural ability to make people laugh.

There is no one like you. Only you hold the key to what is funny about you and I'm here to help you find it.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿?

💜 Anyone curious to explore the tools and techniques of clowning and comedy, be that someone brand new to the world clowning, or someone looking to deepen into their craft.

💜 Anyone interested in creating more fun and laughter in their everyday lives, relationships and work.

💜 Anyone looking to tap into their creativity in a friendly community of like-minded people.

💜 No previous experience with clowning is necessary. You don't need to be a performer or artist to take part in this workshop.

💜 Anyone and everyone is welcome. All you need is a willingness to play.

My name's Marny. I've been making comedic theatre for the past 10 years. I truly believe the power clowning has to bring creativity, joy and confidence to people's lives. I love sharing the gift of clowning with people who are curious to explore it - from total beginners to professional performers and everyone in between.
