This is the second workshop this semester that is related to Venture Out, the University of Manchester's problem-seeking, problem-solving competition that is open to all students from the university whether working alone or in teams of up to 6 people. Spotting opportunities, defining problems and generating solutions are all key elements of the entrepreneur's toolkit and the Venture Out competition. In this workshop, we will go through these key activities but will focus on the challenges when trying to find real applications for your research or just new technology in general. This is called a Technology Push and can so often lead to a solution that has no problem and hence no customer. In this workshop we will explore how you can avoid this situation and make sure that your technology solves a real problem.
