Finding Flow – Navigating the holiday season with Flow Journaling

Online event

Overview

A gentle one-hour evening practice with author Henny Flynn, hosted by Kate Adams from Inner Work Project

The Christmas season can bring a mix of emotions — joy, anticipation, tenderness, and sometimes a sense of pressure, complexity, or loneliness in the midst of the noise.

Many of us meet this time of year with full hearts and full nervous systems. Some of us feel the weight of family dynamics or the absence of people we love. Others simply long for a quiet pause in the midst of it all.

This 60-minute session is designed as a soft place to land.

Flow Journaling is a simple, compassionate, mindfulness-based writing practice that helps us come back to ourselves — especially when life feels stirred up. In this hour together, we’ll weave gentle relaxation, grounding reflection, and guided writing as a way to steady ourselves for the season ahead.

You’re warmly welcome here — exactly as you are.

What to Expect

During our time together, we’ll explore:

  • A mindful relaxation practice to help your body settle and arrive.
  • A compassionate look at how journaling can help us find clarity around personal boundaries, especially during tender, complex or busy times.
  • A Flow Journaling prompt to gently explore what you most need from this season — whether that’s space, connection, boundaries, rest, or something as yet unnamed.
  • A quiet guided writing space, held with care and kindness.
  • A bonus journaling prompt sent afterwards, so you can continue the practice in your own time.

You don’t need any writing experience — just a pen, paper, and a quiet place to sit.

My hope is that you leave feeling steadier, clearer, and more supported — whether your December feels joyful, complicated, quiet, or all of these at once.

Who It’s For

This session is for anyone who would like to:

  • Find a calmer footing during the holiday season
  • Explore supportive boundaries with clarity and kindness
  • Meet feelings of tenderness, frustration, loneliness or overwhelm with compassion
  • Carve out a moment of peaceful reflection in a full or emotionally complex month
  • Learn a simple journaling practice that can support you long after the session ends

All are welcome. You don’t have to be “in a good place” to join. You can simply be here.
