Finding places: the genius of what3words
Event Information
About this Event
Heal had a hard problem to solve in 2019: how could we inspire people to support rewilding and also give those supporters the sense of being rooted into a piece of land?
The answer was what3words, the genius 2013 invention born of a music producer's frustration as he waited in a field for a lost van driver to deliver band equipment to a festival.
Phoebe Parry-Crooke from what3words will tell us how it works and some of the ways it's now being used in 193 countries in all kinds of ways, such as for emergencies, for drone deliveries, for driverless vehicles and simply for giving anyone in the world an accurate and easy way of specifying a precise location, from a building entrance in a city to a spot in the middle of nowhere.
Phoebe works in the Business Development team at what3words, leading partnerships in the sectors of national infrastructure, NGOs and local government.
