Event description

Description

This is an introductory session aimed at those starting out in research, or returning to research. It is useful for people conducting an extensive search, for example as part of a literature review. It is about planning for a search - it does not cover specific subjects or databases.

The session covers

  • Knowing your topic / subject area - what are the main types of source in your research area, and where can they be found?
  • The importance of planning for your search
  • How to apply what you learn - search as feedback process

If you are interested in a session where you do some searches and discuss tips on using databases, there is a related practical session on 'Finding sources.'
