This immersive photo workshop will guide participants in the art of portrait storytelling while experimenting with the unique properties of mylar to shape light in unexpected ways. Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, you will learn how to infuse narrative and emotion into your portraits, while using reflection and distortion to heighten mood and depth. We’ll explore how light interacts with mylar to produce shimmering highlights, abstract patterns, and sculptural effects that transform simple portraits into striking visual stories. Designed for photographers of all levels, this workshop will inspire you to see both light and subject in new, creative dimensions.

This event is part of Finding the Light, a photography exhibition organised by Dark Room Socials and sponsored by Astera.Dark Room Socials invites you to Finding the Light, our latest group exhibition featuring the work of 20 photographers in collaboration with Astera.
