Description

From animation to drama, how do we find the stories in Welsh film?

We’re excited to bring you two practical sessions in North and South Wales where PR and Communications specialist Jane Thomas will lead a workshop covering:

  • Exercises based on Welsh features and shorts due for release in 2018.
  • Press release writing and building relationships with the media.
  • Outreach – where are your target audiences? How do you reach them?
  • Finding a news angle.

Following 15 years heading up a busy Welsh public sector press office, Jane launched a freelance career in 2015 and has since worked with Film Hub Wales and the BFI on numerous projects. For out more information about Jane here.

There will be plenty of time to talk about the upcoming releases, with extended preview clips, trailers and a film pack provided (booking terms, contacts and release schedules).

We'll be screening preview clips from forthcoming releases such as the claymation horror-comedy Night Of The Trampires and docu-drama My Grandfather The Spy, which uncovers a family's unbelievable secret, as well as he up-coming Lionsgate WW1 epic, Journey's End and Kesulat, the emotional tale of a family in the Kosovo War. There will also be screenings of short films from The Best of Iris, BFI Network's Beacons and Britain on Film.

More films may be announced and subject to final availability.
A film pack will be provided with booking terms, contacts and release schedules.

You can also talk to us about Made in Wales support, which you can still apply for now, for films screening before the end of December 2018.

*The event is free to Film Hub Wales members and lunch will be provided along with tea and coffee.
