Are you interested in Finance and Banking? Or are you a fan of innovation and the new trends of technology in businesses? If yes, you sure should enjoy our panel discussion on the topic of “FinTech - the Future of Finance?”.

At the panel we will discuss if Fintech should really be reagrded as a new way of banking? How are FInTechs different from traditional banks? What a country should do to develop a good business environment for Fintech companies to set up? How should traditional banks respond? And many other interesting questions

At the event we shall have 4 panelists:

  • Vilius Šapoka - the Minister of Finance of Lithuania. Lithuania and especially Vilnius is usually regarded as one of the hotspots of Fintech in Europe as Lithuania is responsible for a number of FinTech-prospering policies, which Vilius Sapoka will be happy to discuss at the panel
  • Ieva Elvyra Kazakevičiūte - PR and Community Manager of Northern Europe at Revolut. Revolut is seen as one of the most successful FinTech companies in Europe, in fact they are also applying for banking license in Lithuania at the moment. Ieva Elvyra, a lithuanian representative of Revolut will be happy to speak on behalf of a true FinTech startup.
  • Norris Koppel - Founder & CEO at Monese. Norris is an Estonian founder of Monese, a FinTech business, which provides a mobile banking service for internationally mobile individuals. Norris will be happy to speak about the opportunities he saw in the market and the journey he has had as a FinTech entrepreneur.
  • David McHenry - Head of Global Treasury and Payments Advisory at Silicon Valley Bank. David largely focuses on emerging payments in FinTech sector at SVB, which originated in the Tech-heavy region, he will sure add some interesting insights on behalf of a more traditional bank - SVB.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Jonathan Liebenau, LSE associate professor of Technology Management. His fields of expertiese includes: Technology management and innovation, information systems in developing countries, mobile and internet technologies and technology policy
