Fire Marshal and Fire Safety Classroom Courses
Overview
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 mandates all business owners and employers to provide their employees with adequate fire safety training. Additionally, Article 18 of the order requires the Responsible Person to appoint one or more "Competent Persons" to assist with fire safety and emergency evacuations in the event of fire.
To ensure the designated workplace fire warden or marshal is competent in their fire safety training, additional training should be provided, commonly referred to as Fire Marshall or Fire Warden training. David at Fitzcharles Training offers a flexible and self-paced Fire Marshall course that takes 4 hours to complete.
The course is designed to equip the designated workplace fire warden or marshal with the necessary knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively. The course covers the following topics:* The role of the fire marshal/warden* Fire safety regulations and legislation* Types and classifications of fire* Common causes of fire in the workplace and how to identify hazards* Fire development, spread, and travel* Means of escape, protected escape routes, and emergency lighting* Evacuation procedures and checks* Liaison with the Fire Service* Use of extinguishers and fire blankets* Record-keeping.
