Fire Marshals are members of staff with some extra knowledge and responsibilities around fire safety within a building or organisation.
By attending this course participants will have:
- A better understanding of fire safety and the actions to take on discovering a fire.
- They will be able to organise evacuation procedures, and liaison with the fire brigade.
- The course will include fire extinguisher training and an overview of signage, records and checks.
- more confidence about what do in the event of a fire and how to behave
As a matter of good practice every organisation should have at least one-person available at all times able to take a lead should a fire happen. This low-cost one-day training course will provide participants with Fire Marshalls who can take the lead within their organisation for fire safety.

The Community Involvement Unit (CIU)is a team of specialists providing a comprehensive package of quality advice and information aimed at supporting and strengthening voluntary and community groups. The unit was established in 1991 and is based at Durning Hall in Forest Gate.
