Headliner: Joanna M. Lawrie is a poet, author, artist, parody songwriter, and all-round mad cat lover living in the wilds of Warwickshire. Born in Scotland and brought up in the Western Isles, she’s been writing poetry—or at least rhyming words—for as long as she can remember. Aside from a couple of library events, her proudest poet moment was being part of World Weaver’s Collective at the Springboard Festival 2025. 60% puns, 30% spooky ghost-witch, and 12% terrible at maths, she thinks she’s finally found her poetic voice at the youthful age of her early 40s.

Fire&Dust is a pay as you feel poetry open mic event.

Our 'Ko-fi' link, to keep the gigs going is here: https://ko-fi.com/fireanddustpoetry We believe that the arts shouldn't exclude on basis of income, but also that artists should be paid.

We want to keep the lovely poets and audience we've met since going onto Zoom in April 2020 - of course new faces and voices are welcome. We think it's important to keep poetry accessible to those who, for whatever reason, are unable to join our event at the LTB in Coventry UK on the regular slot of the first Thursday of the month, or who want a double helping of Fire&Dust.

All welcome - poets, performance poets, slammers, MCs and anyone happy to listen to some poetry. Bring poems, bring partners/housemates/pets, or just bring yourself along to listen and enjoy. Just don't bring hate.

The gig will take place via Zoom (a web-based video calling platform). In order to access this gig, you will need an internet connection and a computer or device with a microphone, headphones/speaker, and ideally a camera or webcam.
