Rohan is often credited as being the driving force behind the creation of Tech City - the stimulus that has made London the leading startup city outside of the Valley. A key policy definer in the very popular - SEIS schemes that have spurred investment in UK startups, Rohan left his role in 10 Downing Street to co-found Second Home, a co-working space that promises to incubate the next generation of unicorns. To learn more about the challenges in developing the ecosystem, and the interaction between government and the startup community, join us at an evening with Rohan at the offices of Second Home, a workspace that brings together thinkers, makers, artists and entrepreneurs.

Rohan Silva
Rohan Silva is co-founder of Second Home, a social enterprise that supports creativity and innovation in cities around the world.
Prior to this, Rohan was headhunted by George Osborne (then the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer) to become a special advisor.
Rohan was previously Senior Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister, where he worked across all areas of policy, but was particularly passionate about enterprise, innovation and technology. He was responsible for developing key policies to improve the environment for enterprise in the UK, such as the Entrepreneur Visa, Entrepreneur Relief, angel investment tax breaks, and the Government's Open Data agenda. Rohan is credited with driving some of the UK government's most digital-friendly policies, including tax breaks for investors, the Tech City initiative and the world-leading Government Digital Service (GDS - which is now being copied by the Obama administration). According to a 2015 government report, GDS directly accounted for £599 million of savings.
Rohan is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art and a World Economic Forum ‘Young Global Leader’.
