This clinical webinar will discuss different ways of replacing missing teeth. Topics covered will include removal of partial dentures, adhesive bridgework, conventional bridgework and implant restorations. The emphasis will be on clinical aspects of these treatments with practical hints and tips which practitioners will be able to introduce into their clinical practice immediately.

2. To discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the treatment options

3. To update delegates on immediate implant therapy

Objectives

1. Understand the importance of treatment planning for replacement of missing teeth and how to carry this out successfully

2. Be familiar with the clinical factors to consider when offering different treatment options for missing teeth including removable partial dentures, adhesive or conventional bridgework and implants

3. Gain a greater awareness of the current techniques available for the immediate replacement of teeth

Arshad Ali established the Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry (SCED) in 2009. He qualified with commendation at the University of Glasgow in 1978 and carried out 10 years of postgraduate training in Glasgow, Cardiff, London and Sweden.

He was appointed to the first NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry post in Wales in 1988 before returning to Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1997 to an NHS Consultant post until 2011.

Thereafter, he has been focussing on SCED and postgraduate teaching both locally and further afield.
