Meet the Trainer - David Stanley

Dave has over 30 years of experience in emergency services which started in the fire service, working as a firefighter, and teaching other firefighters and the general public. Dave then joined the adult social care workforce as a mandatory trainer and health and safety officer, working with companies such as CareTech, Metropolitan Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary to train their staff. He then progressed to operational management in the medical field, where his passion has led him to specialising in pre-hospital care, where he works today within the NHS.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the importance of workplace first aid regulations.
  • Describe the importance of infection prevention.
  • Describe the importance of record keeping.
  • Identify how to conduct a primary and secondary surveys of casualties.
  • Understand how to put casualties into the recovery position.
  • Understand how to administer CPR to casualties and use a defibrillator.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with: Heart attack and angina, Asthma, Allergic reactions and Diabetic emergencies

Delivery Method - How will it look like on the day?

This coursre will be delivered in person, over a half day. The training venue details are provided above. The training session will be interactive, and will offer a fully immersive learning experience that is enhanced by small group learning. All learners will have the opportunity to engage directly with the trainers, take part in interactive activities and share learning with others in focused discussions.

Cost

The cost of the course is £30 per person. This does not include VAT. Payment needs to be made ahead of the course start. Cancellations and refund requests would need to be submitted at least 14 days ahead of the course start. You can process a cancellation/refund via our booking portal.

In selecting the training venue, we have ensured that the training room, kitchen and toilets are all accessible, and all are located on the ground floor.
