FIRST AID AT WORK TASTER SESSION
Did you know? Thousands of people are dying each year in situations where first aid could have made the difference; this includes nearly 900 people who choke to death, 2’500 who asphyxiate from a blocked airway and 29’000 who die from heart attacks.
This short taster session will give an overview of:
First Aid at Work
First aid at work, First aid responsibilities, First aid box, Reporting accidents and medical emergencies.
Emergency First Aid
Emergency first aid dealing with emergencies, The primary survey, Basic life support (CPR), The secondary survey, The recovery position.
Injuries and Illnesses
Injuries and illnesses at work, Sprains, strains and fractures, Eye injury, Electric shock, Burns, Choking, Allergic reactions, Heart attack.
Wounds and Bleeding
Wounds and bleeding, Types of wounds, Types of bleeding, How to treat a minor wound, Treating a minor wound.
This is not a qualification, but attendees will leave with some basic knowledge of first aid at work. Details of First Aid Qualifications will be available on the day if attendees want to take their training further.
