Who is it for:
It is a legal requirement for any office to have a qualified first aid person in case of emergency.
This course is also suitable for people who work in high-hazard environments such as construction, manufacturing or agriculture.
The aim of the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work course is to train candidates to manage an accident scene in the workplace, effectively communicate and delegate until the Emergency services arrive. It gives learners the skills and confidence to respond to a range of accidents and first aid emergencies they could encounter in the workplace.
- Understanding the role of a First Aider
- The need for reporting accidents
- First Aid Kits
- Checking breathing
- Caring for an unconscious casualty
- Performing CPR Adult/Child/Infant
- Recovery position
- Blood loss and shock
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injury
- Disorders of the airway
- Bone injuries
- Major medical conditions (including the administration of aspirin and epinephrine)
- Practical/Theory Test
The First Aid at Work course is delivered over a three-day period.
