Become a Certified First Aider for Mental health so you are better equipped to support others. Zoom & Self Study Training.

About this Event

Why?

It isn't easy starting a conversation with someone you are worried about at work.

It isn't easy to know what to say when your colleague is having a tough time at home.

It isn't easy to support someone who is feeling the strain.

It isn't easy to address a work performance issue when you are worried about the persons mental health.

It isn't easy to know where to send someone who needs more than you can offer.

It isn't always easy to ask for help.

It isn't always easy to provide that help.

Life can become overwhelming and mental health can suffer affecting all areas of peoples work and home life, some people have no-where to turn, others are afraid to talk about what it going on, some aren't even aware that they have a problem.

I believe now more than ever we need to be equipped to support each other.

And this is just one of the reasons why I teach others to become First Aiders for Mental Health in the workplace.

Another reason is that a number of years ago I was diagnosed with depression and acute stress and have come out of the other side.

By becoming a First Aider for Mental Health you will become someone that people can turn to, you will be more able to start a difficult conversation with someone who you are concerned about and you will be more able to sign-post people to get the help they need.

It is a big responsibility but if you are ready to learn some new skills and become a beacon for someone in need then get in touch and get booked onto today and become a First Aider for Mental Health in your workplace.

We will cover:

• What is First Aid for Mental Health

• Identifying mental health conditions

• Starting a possibly difficult conversation

• First Aid for Mental Health action plan

• Mental Health in the workplace

• How to offer advice and to signpost a person to seek professional help

• First Aid Action Plan for mental health

• How to create a positive mental health culture in the workplace.
