This walk is about regeneration and re-gentrification. Did you know it has its own currency? Brixton has an amazing ‘vibe’, street art and some very diverse firsts all which happened in a small area. It also has some amazing markets. So many famous people have lived in Brixton including David Bowie, Sharon Osborne, Max Wall, John Mayor and Freddie ‘Parrot faced’ Davies (remember him!) So many famous house hold stores originated from the area. It also has many political firsts. It even has own windmill and prison which thanks to virtual we can visit! There are of course some cultural and topical firsts especially around the Windrush Square.
