Do you want to meet innovative startups and organisations? Are you seeking to develop your network and build partnerships with real commercial value? Looking for inspiration from leaders in CivTech?
Join us for the first of The CivTech Forum meet up events. Hear from established CivTech businesses and meet with changemakers and politicians.
WHAT
The CivTech Forum is building community for CivTech startups. The Forum provides opportunities for members to meet and collaborate usefully, in person and online at CivTechForum.org, the information portal. CivTech meetups start with presentations from people successfully improving government services through tech to inspire innovation, and end with purposeful networking facilitated by Chance & Community Chess Cards.
The conversations at our first event will be sparked by presentations from MegaNexus and Represent.Me. MegaNexus are a CivTech startup that has been going for over a decade supplying services to local government and the prison sector. With 120 people employed in India and the UK, MegaNexus is now in the process of scaling up. Represent.Me help to connect politicians and the people they serve, a timely aim with an election round the corner. Represent were recently covered in the Times and are currently going for seed stage investment.
WHY
Government is the biggest industry on the planet and the least affected by digital transformation. We are bringing together the people who want to do something about that.
We aim to make it easier for entrepreneurs and startups in Civ Tech to meet, learn and grow.

WHO
If you are part of a start up bringing change to public services, communications between government and the people or the very nature of democracy itself come and join us. if you are an academic, politician, data scientist, entrepreneur or changemaker, or if you build things using government data, the CivTech forum is for you.
Speakers:
Ed Dowding, serial entrepreneur and founder of Represent.me - an organisation modernising democracy through tech.
Ed specialises in social collaboration systems. His work has included building risk analysis services for the insurance industry, and from 2005 to 2010 he developed an SMS alert system which quickly grew into a full emergency management service for London local authorities and blue-lights.
Dr Dan Brown, founder and Chairman of MegaNexus - the market leader in secure data-partnership systems.
Daniel first founded a computer software business at the age of 13, which he ran for five years. Dan co-founded APR Smartlogik, a business which he built to 60 people and revenues of $6m, winning the Times Innovation award in 2001 and NLB Visionary Design award in 2003. He is the inventor of a range of patents and author of several books and over thirty papers. He is Entrepreneur in Residence for University College London, from where he launched MegaNexus.
