Event description

Description

The temperature might be cooling down in September but we have the perfectly heartwarming film for any weather. Join us for an outdoor screening of the family classic My Neighbour Totoro by Studio Ghibli legend Hayao Miyazaki. The film follows two sisters (voiced by Dakota and Elle Fanning) who discover the magical mysteries of their new surroundings when they move away from the busy bustle of the city after their mother falls ill. The girls end up befriending one of the enchanting creatures, Totoro, who guides them through the wonders of the hidden world. A wonderful tale about childhood and the incredible freedom of imagination, with the perfect nature setting of Cotteridge Park to help you immerse into the magic!

"Doors Open" at 8pm. Film starts at 8.30pm. You can arrive with your picnic and play in the park at anytime!

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Travel Information: Don't drive to this event. There is NO parking at Cotteridge Park. Make this a sustainable outing by walking to the park. If it's too far to walk the park is 5 minutes from Bournville Station on the Cross City Line, close to lots of bus routes and near the canal and River Rea cycle routes.

There is very limited parking for Blue Badge drivers - get in touch if you need a space.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

info@cotteridgepark.org.uk

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No - but it would help if you did.

What can/should I bring into the event?

Food and Drink - you are very welcome to bring a picnic or a takeaway. There will be hot drinks, pop corn and candy floss available. BBQs are not allowed.

Seating - don't forget to bring something to sit on. Blankets are good. If you bring chairs/deck chairs just be thoughtful about not sitting in front of people on blankets. Don't bring gazebos or tents - they will block the view.

Dark and Cold - not matter how warm it is when you arrive it will be cold by the end of the film. Bring something warm to wear or blankets to wrap up in. Have a torch to help you find your way out of the park at the end of the film.
