First Friday Fundraising Clinic - Online Fundraising

First Friday Fundraising Clinics are run in partnership with International Fundraising Consultancy (IFC). The IFC set up First Friday Fundraising sessions to create a free space for non-profit organisations to gain knowledge and advice on a range of fundraising topics.

These workshops are a great opportunity for you to meet face to face with a fundraising expert and get their support with a particular issue or challenge you may be facing. This session will focus on online fundraising and how to maximise your campaigns success.

A recent study by JustGiving has shown that the causes people are raising money for online are changing, with the public and donors are moving away from supporting charities in general and towards supporting named projects within those charities. The way we have to present our causes digitally will have to change.

This session will cover:

  • How online fundraising has changed in recent years.
  • How to diversify your online presence to capitalise on recent changes.
  • What we can learn from recent online fundraising campaigns.
  • How to copy and develop these ideas for your charity.

Trainer Bio: Jonathan Cook
Jonathan is a charity fundraising insight specialist who studies the way supporters and donors give to charities.

He’ll give his take on the changes to people’s online giving and developments in the charity digital marketplace.

We ask that all attendees arrive 15 minutes before the workshop starts to ensure a timely start and the smooth running of the workshop. Tea and coffee will not be provided, but is available from the kiosk within the building.

We want to make sure all of our workshops meet your needs, so if you have any questions about accessibility please email

Places for this workshop are free but there is a £30 booking deposit which will be returned to you after you have attended the event.

This workshop is open to anyone who works for a non-profit organisation with an annual turnover of under £1 million and is interested in fundraising.

If the places have all been filled please do add your details to the waitlist and we will let you know as soon as a place becomes available.

Cancellations and Refunds:
If you cancel your place at least 2 working days before the event takes place then you are entitled to a full refund by request. Refunds for cancellations after this point are given at the discretion of Small Charities Coalition.

If you cannot make a workshop please advise us as soon as possible. Workshops normally have a waitlist and if you notify us early enough then there's a good chance another charity can attend in your place.
