We look forward to seeing you to the first of what we hope to be many successful RBN events in Glasgow. This event is kindly hosted by MacRoberts LLP, Capella, 60 York Street, Glasgow, G2 8JX, and our Guest Speaker, Colin Gregor, Ex Scotland 7’s Captain and top points scorer, is looking forward to sharing his thoughts on Scottish rugby, 7’s and many other subjects.
Colin was a professional player for 11 years before a knee injury forced him to retire in 2015. He started at Strathendrick and rose via Glasgow Hawks and Watsonians to Glasgow Warriors for whom he made 130 appearances. He represented Scotland ‘A’ 9 times in the 15 man game, but he is possibly best known for his 7’s prowess.
Having lead Scotland on their first IRB 7’s Series appearance in 2009 in Dubai, he represented them in 2 Commonwealth Games, one of which was Glasgow 2014, and three 7’s World Cups amassing 58 caps in all and scoring 88 tries along the way.
Colin was the first Scot and one of only 8 players to score 1,000 points on the IRB 7’s circuit – he went on to score 1,345 points, the third highest all time points scorer, surpassing even Waisile Serevi
A Champion for the Winning Scotland Foundation in their Champions in Schools project, he has also written for The Sun and Herald newspapers and The Scrum magazine and presented on BBC Alba, BBC Scotland and Sky Sports. He is currently studying for a Masters at Heriot Watt University in Team Dynamics and is Coaching at Glasgow Hawks.
