First IAPTI International Conference London 2013
Saturday, 5 October 2013 from 08:30 to 19:30 (BST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
By translators and interpreters, for translators and interpreters, this first IAPTI international conference provides a platform for discussion of the most burning issues affecting our profession: unethical agency practices; the relationship between the translator, their client and money; international rates for translation services, and much more besides. These matters have a direct impact on our professional lives, so we should have our voices heard.
Who should attend?
- Members of IAPTI worldwide (you can still join now!)
- Professional translators and interpreters who want to see a change for the better
- Translation and interpreting students
- Academics shaping the future of our profession
- UK court interpreters
What is on the agenda?
The first IAPTI international conference is a one-day event with 18 sessions held in three parallel rooms. A unique highlight of the conference, a round table on international rates, will be an unprecedented forum for a debate. The day after the conference is devoted to discussion, networking, and enjoying London from the translators’ perspective. Conference rates include registration coffee, lunch and two coffee breaks.

International Association for Professional Translators and Interpreters
The International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (IAPTI) has been created by a group of professional language mediators as a vehicle for promoting ethical practices in their profession, as a venue in which to establish a dialog, without censorship and without conflicts of interest, with the aim of promoting effective professional ethics.
