Description

Hello

First Minister's National Advisory Council on Women and Girls Business Rountable - Glasgow

Thank you for your interest in registering for this event.

The First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls (NACWG), are a group of 16 diverse women independently advising the First Minister on helping Scotland to become more gender equal. We work with a larger Circle of support from all sectors on our strategy (current membership just over 750) and although this includes some business, the numbers are low. We absolutely believe that business has a place in the gender equality conversation and that is why we are hosting a Business roundtable event on Friday 26 July at Atlantic Quay, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU.

The NACWG are keen to learn as much as possible from the combined centuries of knowledge, experience, and expertise that is contained within Scotland’s business sector.

Government representatives from CBI/FSB/IOD/Scottish Chamber of Commerce/SCDI/Scottish Financial Enterprise/Business for Scotland have been invited and we would like to get a wide and varied delegation at each session.

Jacqui Ferguson, Non Executive Director, Croda PLC, Engineering UK, Tesco Bank and Wood Plc, will be chairing the roundtables which will focus on the theme that the NACWG are concentrating on over 2019 ‘Policy Coherence – how is policy made and do policies work against each other…’ and outputs will help to inform the 2019 Report and Recommendations to First Minister on this annual topic. Further information will be circulated ahead of the roundtable and delegates may be invited to speak at it or contribute analysis/evidence ahead of time. This is the second year of operation of the NACWG and we will look to include business specific roundtables going forward, to help feed into our strategy. Your contribution is significant and I hope you will be able to dedicate some resource to this conversation.

You can find out more about the NACWG here, our initial three year strategy here, and Jacqui Ferguson's note here.

We thank you for continuing to commit to this ambitious agenda for Scotland and look forward to seeing you on 26 July 2019. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at ACWG@gov.scot.

Yours sincerely

NACWG Secretariat

Please Note: By registering/attending an event we consider this to be a request for Circle membership and will add you to our database. This means that going forward you will receive communication about NACWG including invites to events and how you can get involved with this movement. You can withdraw from Circle membership at any time.
