First Minister's Reading Challenge Shared Practice Showcase
Event Information
About this event
Schools across Scotland delivered amazing work through the First Minister’s Reading Challenge in 2020/21. Despite the quarantined library books, the stage bubbles and a winter lockdown, children and young people continued to enjoy reading in creative and fun ways as staff tirelessly championed the power of reading for pleasure.
Join us for an online shared practice showcase where you'll hear directly from a selection of learning professionals who took part in the Reading Challenge last year and undertook inspiring projects to build a reading culture in their setting. Find out how they adapted plans during restrictions and flourished in unprecedented conditions to keep their reading culture thriving.
The showcase will include presentations from a number of learning professionals, examples of best practice to promote reading, practical and inclusive activities to try, as well as the opportunity to discuss ideas with fellow participants.
This session is suitable for secondary school staff and librarians. It will be held as a meeting on Microsoft Teams, with meeting details emailed close to the event.
