First Thursday - 2 October: FrankenStartup: A Light-hearted Game of Ideas, Creativity and Chaos
FrankenStartup is a playful group game for people who love ideas — and don’t take themselves too seriously.
You’ll be teamed up with a few others (don’t worry, we make that part easy) and given four simple prompts: a problem to solve, a person you’re solving it for, a type of product, and a fun or slightly ridiculous pitch constraint. That’s it. Your team then has around 30 minutes to come up with a startup idea based on those prompts.
You don’t need to be a founder, coder or pitch expert — in fact, the more variety in each team, the better. It’s about seeing where your imagination takes you, having a laugh, and working together to shape a wild idea into something (semi) coherent.
At the end, each team shares their idea in a quick 60-second pitch. No slides, no pressure — just tell the story of your FrankenStartup, however you like. We’ve seen people sing, mime, use props, or just explain the idea with a big grin and a lot of enthusiasm.
So why are we doing this? Because sometimes, the best conversations happen when we’re busy making things together. FrankenStartup is a chance to meet new people in a creative, supportive environment — to share a few laughs, spark some ideas, and maybe surprise yourself in the process.
