The workshop will identify and establish a UK community on high-entropy materials, highlighting areas of challenge and opportunity, and will create a forum for sharing ideas, and enabling greater networking and formation of new partnerships.

The workshop is aimed at those with an interest in high-entropy materials in the UK, including researchers, academics and industrialists. It’s anticipated that most attendees will have interest in high-entropy alloys (HEAs), but those interested in other up-and-coming high-entropy research areas are also encouraged to participate to shape a wider “High Entropy” community*.

The aims of the workshop are to:

● Identify and establish a UK community on high-entropy materials.

● Create a forum for sharing ideas.

● Enable greater networking and formation of new partnerships, including between industry and academia.

● Highlight areas of challenge and opportunity.

Outputs include:

● Presentations, discussion board and list of attendees.

● Summary of challenges and opportunities identified.

Abstracts

Short talks will be used to stimulate discussion over three sessions across the day, these will not be ‘standard’ scientific presentations that address their own work, rather, speakers will be asked to talk about the challenges and opportunities they see in the field, or new ideas and methods that are likely to be of interest to the whole community.
