Description

A Sport and Physical Activity Conference for the Voluntary and Community Sector

Target Audience: Sports Development Officers, Leisure Operators, voluntary and community services organisations, voluntary and private care providers, charities, commissioners, community groups, sheltered housing providers, housing associations, sport and physical activity deliverers, Key Partners in Sports Development Schemes and local Councillors/Executive Members

This conference will demonstrate how sport and physical activity has helped improve the quality of life for people voluntary and community sector service users through workshops and case studies. The workshops and case studies will provide local and national examples of how sport and physical activity has helped;

  • people from minority communities
  • people with physical disabilities
  • people with learning disabilities
  • people with long-term health conditions
  • people in poverty
  • older people, young people and women and girls

The conference will provide an opportunity for networking and developing relationships with partners from across Hertfordshire and, learning more about funding available and practical information on how to implement case studies in a local environment.

Keynote: ‘Bridging the Gap’ blueprint for engagement with the voluntary and community sector, Chris Grant, Chief Executive Officer, Sported

During the day we will launch the Disability Strategy for Hertfordshire and the Year of Physical Activity 2018.

9.30am – 10am: Arrival and refreshments

11.45am – 12pm: Break and refreshments

12pm – 1pm: Workshop 2

1pm – 2.00pm: Lunch

2pm – 3.00pm: Panel session – Q and A

3.00pm – 4.00pm: Networking session


This Conference is being offered free of charge, however not attending a booked place will result in a £50 charge to you or your organisation.
