About this event
Fitness to practise partners make decisions at hearings about social workers’ professional conduct, competence or health. These independent partners from a variety of backgrounds play a major part in our work.
We are currently recruiting fitness to practise partners and want to reach out to people from as many different backgrounds as possible, particularly those from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds as part of our commitment set out in our equality, diversity and inclusion action plan.
Join our workshop for people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds to:
- Find out what’s involved in being a partner
- Find out what skills and qualities we’re looking for
- Find out how to apply
- Learn more about Social Work England and meet the team
- Learn more about the fitness to practise process.
As a regulator, being representative of the people we serve means we are more likely to meet the diverse needs of the public we work to protect. We are committed to ensuring our processes and practices do not negatively impact individuals based on their protected characteristics.
We recognise that we do not have enough Black, Asian and ethnic minority partners to represent the diversity of the social workers coming through our concerns process. This recruitment drive is a positive step to address that, and we look forward to discussing this at our workshop.
Apply for a role
The roles available can be found on our partner recruitment website. These include lay adjudicators, social work adjudicators, lay panel chairs and legal advisers.
Applications for these roles close at 12pm (midday) on Friday 24 January 2022.
