About Clare Fone :

Clare qualified from Guys Hospital in 1984, with distinction. She has worked at several top London hospitals, including Westminster Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal[MSK] conditions including spinal and joint pain, chronic pain, repetitive strain injuries, pre and post surgical cases and sports injuries. She spent 18 months working at Toronto General Hospital, Canada, where she worked with Workman Compensation cases and their return to work and also double lung and heart transplants and cardiac rehabilitation in intensive care. Clare also worked in the occupational health department at Marks and Spencers, Baker Street, treating employees and teaching health and wellbeing exercise classes.

Clare established The Westminster Physiotherapy and Pilates Centre in 1994 , which is a private physiotherapy, health and fitness Centre. She regularly teaches Wellbeing Exercise classes at her private practice and for corporate clients, including Buckingham Palace. She is a trained Pilates Instructor, and has devised a ‘PhysioYogaLates’ exercise class containing a mixture of Physiotherapy education, Pilates, Yoga, Ballet and Tai Chi exercises. This class is evidence based and follows NICE guidelines.

Clare also regularly lectures to large corporate clients on a variety of topics, including ‘Turning your working day into a workout’ and ‘ 5 pillars of health: how to take ownership of our bodies.

As a chartered physiotherapist with 37 years of experience treating musculoskeletal disorders ,Clare is passionate about prevention and health education. “When you understand how the body works, you become empowered, less dependent on the medical establishment to ‘fix’ you” and less likely to damage yourself with exercise routines” she adds.
