As part of the North Somerset Early Years and Childcare Strategy 2023-2026 we are committed to embedding the Five to Thrive model of brain development and connected relationships across all of our services and partner organisations. This will enable all health professionals, practitioners and volunteers engaging with North Somerset families to be using a common language when talking about brain development and parents connecting with their babies/children.
This half-day training is for Early Years staff who care for children directly within early years settings and working with families in groups. This course will explore cues and clues children give us of their need for connection and also offer learning opportunities for practitioners to reflect on their own contribution to the relationship.
During the session practitioners will have the opportunity to explore Five to Thrive resources, including guides, posters, drop cards, blocks etc.
The Five to Thrive building blocks describe a sequence of relational activities that build healthy brains in young children and maintain healthy brain function throughout life.
•Respond · Cuddle · Relax · Play · Talk.
•These are our ‘building blocks for a healthy brain’.
This is a free training course, we ask for two working days notice if you are unable to attend. Failiure to give notice or non attendance of the course will incur a £50 admin fee.
