Explore the story of historical African queens through a filmed performance of eight community women
About this event
Join us for the screening of “Fix your Crown”, a short film capturing the performance of eight Bristol community women, following a series of virtual theatre workshops organised by Razana Afrika and Patrice Naiambana. The women used the stories of historical African Queens to inspire their performances. They were coached by a team of international experts in the area of writing and African Diaspora Performance. We explored the African Queens’ stories, their legacy and relevance for us today.
The screening of “Fix Your Crown” will be followed by a Q&A session with the performers and the creative team. The Q&A session will be chaired by Dr Marie-Annick Gournet.
