Fixed Penalty Notices training for enforcement officers | Online | 6 Nov

Who is this training for?

This course is suitable for enforcement officers, other statutory body holders and other organisations in Scotland, with the responsibility for issuing fixed penalty notices for litter, dog fouling and flytipping. Please note you must be an authorised enforcement officer to register for this course.

What certification will I get?

You will receive a certficate of attendence from Keep Scotland Beautiful.

The course carries a maximum value of 4 hours (core activity) for the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme.

How long will the training take?

This training is five hours of learning and runs from 10:00 - 16:00 on 6 November 2025.

How will the training take place?

This training will take place online via Zoom.

What are the learning outcomes of the training?

This course will:

• Enable you to identify the offences that officers (authorised by the local authority) are empowered to act on
• Provide you with the knowledge to put together evidence to support prosecutions
• Enable you to understand the circumstances for issuing a Fixed Penalty Notice
• Allow you to issue Fixed Penalty Notices lawfully and safely

What is the style of the training?

The training style is designed to be informative, interesting and interactive. Our trainers encourage direct participation throughout and delegates are given opportunities to discuss issues within their own experience of working in the field.

What is the cost of the training?

£200 exclusive of VAT.

Data Protection Act 2018

We (Keep Scotland Beautiful) will hold the information you have given us via Eventbrite in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

We will use the information you provide to process your registration for the training, send you communications about the training, including relevant follow-up information and for monitoring and reporting. We will use anonymised data for purposes including marketing and promotion.

If your attendance at the training has been organised by an organisation or company, we may share relevant information with them.

We will not record any of the training in full, however, we may take short video clips and images for use in marketing and promotion of the training. Your face and speech may be recorded if you switch on your webcam/microphone, and the username you choose when joining the training may also be recorded. Your contributions to training discussion sessions via text chat may also feature in the recording. We may use the video clips and recordings for future promotion of our activities. This includes, without limitation the right to use the recordings in publicity materials, newsletters, newspapers, magazine articles, exhibitions, films, television and online (web and social media). The recordings may be made available for others to share, including partners and the press. We will give you notice in the training before we take videos or images, so you can choose whether you want to be involved in them.

We will retain data required for your certificate of attendance and any CPD hours gained for a period of four years and will then delete the information. We will store any other information you provide to us via Eventbrite for as long as we require it to complete the training and send any relevant follow-up information. We will then delete the data.
