Mon 8 May 2017, 14:00 – 17:30 BST
You are invited to join Elementa’s cross-sector initiative to develop concrete recommendations for a new Energy and Carbon policy for London. Contribute your perspective and experiences. Help shape a compelling vision for a Zero Emission Capital.
Workshop: 8th May 2017 14.00 - 17.30 - location and details TBC
The London Plan intends to support the construction of energy efficient buildings. However, over recent years we are not alone in becoming increasingly frustrated by barriers that are put in place by the current London Plan - preventing the design of buildings that are on a path to net zero emissions.
From our perspective two key challenges are an energy hierarchy that is no longer fit for purpose and reliance on carbon factors that fail to reflect the UK’s increasingly low carbon electricity grid. Time and again we see developments forced to install systems that contribute to climate change and damage London’s air quality - the opposite outcome that was intended.
The London Plan is being updated this year. To influence policy we need a broader consensus. To that end Elementa are bringing together representatives from across the design, development and construction sectors to identify barriers to low and zero carbon developments faced by all parts of the design and construction sector.
We invite you to participate in:
