Gen X outspend Millennials by 41% in the US and 23% in the UK.

In fact, they spend more across all categories (except healthcare) than any other demographic - including classic Millennial troupes like lifestyle, leisure and travel. And the trend is only likely to accelerate post-COVID.

In spite of this, the industry has become obsessed with Millennials and subsequently Gen Z whilst ignoring the most valuable segment (and biggest opportunity in marketing today) or at best adhering to lazy and outdated clichés.

Increasingly frustrated with their under and misrepresentation by brands, 69% claim they would be more receptive to brands if they were represented more accurately in advertising.

Gen X are the original rebels and innovators, now redefining midlife with strong desire to remain young, cool and interesting whilst continually adapting and reshaping the world around them.
