Thu 27 April 2017, 09:00 – 13:00 BST
About the session
This is a half-day training session for frontline third-sector organisations in London working directly with migrant communities and vulnerable individuals. The training session aims to assist frontline workers in the identification and support of potentially trafficked people.
The session will cover the definition of human trafficking; consent; definition of exploitation, types of exploitation; UK law and policy; and the UK National Referral Mechanism - victim identification & support system.
The session will be delivered by Focus on Labour Exploitation (FLEX) and is organised in partnership with the Route To Your Rights project at the Migrants' Rights Network.
About the organisers
FLEX works to end human trafficking for labour exploitation. To achieve this, FLEX works to prevent labour abuses, protect the rights of trafficked persons and promote best practice responses to human trafficking for labour exploitation by undertaking research, advocacy and by building awareness in this field. You can find out more about FLEX at www.labourexploitation.org.
Migrants' Rights Network is a dynamic national NGO working and campaigning in support of migrants in the UK. Route To Your Rights is a research and advocacy project investigating what difficulties new migrants to the UK are likely to face, and in particular what makes people vulnerable to homelessness, destitution and labour abuse and exploitation.
