This 3-part interactive course supports Bectu’s Lives Behind the Lens campaign. It is aimed at parents/would be parents or carers and will be delivered online over 3 Saturday mornings. Participants can sign up for all 3 sessions or a mixture of the 3. There is a small fee of £2.00 per session to secure the space.

Module 1: Parental focus – 28 September
Module 2: Flexible working - 16 November
Module 3: Job sharing - 30 November

Module 2 - Flexible working options

This module will explore at the pros and cons of each modified working set-up. Discuss the language to use when asking for modifications and determine what adjustments are needed to make your new working set-up the most successful.

• Accommodations to your working day and working week

• Why is flexibility important, and why should everyone consider it

• Terminology to describe the varied, flexible working models and explore existing studies or trials.

• What to consider if opting for "reduced hours',

• Split/flexible hours, shorter weeks and working from home.

• How to manage communication if you are not always available

• Tips and tricks for working remotely

Please ensure you have your camera and audio on for the session as it is interactive.

Camise Oldfield is a seasoned Lead graphic designer whose experience and expertise straddles HETV, feature films and commercials. She Chairs the Graphic Union, is a former BECTU committee member, a mother of 3 as well as being one half of a double film family. She fully embraces the power of job-sharing to bring versatility to her craft and has explored a myriad of innovative work structures to balance professional and personal responsibilities.

Rachel Corbould is a Senior Production Buyer working in HETV and on MMP films with 15 years worth of experience in the field. She is a Mother of 1 child, part of a double film family with her partner, and she was also raised in a double film family herself. Initially challenged by the prospect of returning to work after starting a family, Rachel has embraced a variety of flexible working models to maintain her presence in film & TV production and has been part of the Bectu committee in recent years. Passionate about fostering inclusivity in the workplace, she is focused on championing positive change within the industry she is passionate about.

Cancellation Policy: We appreciate that when circumstances change you may no longer be able to attend a training course you have already booked and paid for.

While we will always try our best to accommodate any alterations to your plans, the BECTU sector of Prospect has a standard cancellation policy which is as follows:

If you notify us by phone or email at least seven full days before the scheduled course date, you will not be charged and will be refunded in full any course fees you have paid.
Cancellations that are less than seven full days before the course date will be charged at 50% of the total course fee, with 50% refunded. This is unless you can demonstrate extenuating circumstances.
If you do not attend the course and/or fail to notify us in advance, you will be charged the full course fee.

BECTU sector reserves the right to cancel courses without liability. However, where possible, delegates will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
