Event description

Description

ETE has been treating all of its activity on a project-based approach for several years now, with all work falling under one of the Department’s three aims, and project management discipline is becoming increasingly important to the Department as we strive to deliver both core services for our customers and our challenging transformation agenda, all against a backdrop of reducing revenue resources.

This course has been developed to focus on the basics of good project management, and will be delivered by our Transformation Practice colleagues from Corporate Services. It is designed to be more hands-on than formal project management courses such as PRINCE 2. The aim is to equip colleagues with good project management skills, tools and techniques, and will cover a number of key areas such as project scoping, dealing with uncertainty, stakeholder analysis and governance.

Whilst the content is mostly relevant to HCC as a whole, there will be an emphasis on working in ETE. The course is highly practical, and participants are asked to have in mind a piece of project work that they are currently working on or about to start. There’s no formal pre-coursework to complete, but do have a think in advance about your knowledge and experiences of projects – be they good, bad or indifferent.
