What is the event about?
Flooding is becoming an increasingly frequent occurrence in many parts of the kingdom. Many people have been forced to accept this as a hazard of where they live; managing the adverse effects and damages as they come. The increasing number of weather warnings brings great anxiety to those living in these areas. Communities are often unaware of how they can take action.
What will I learn?
This event aims to engage and empower the people in these communities, arming them with knowledge of how to react and even prevent flooding in their areas.
Fife Climate Hub are once again bringing in experts from several government and non-profit organisations to showcase how they can help and share/ signpost to further resources.
This year’s facilitators include:
- Rain Garden experts
- Fife Climate Hub
- Scottish Flood Forum
- SEPA
- Fife Council (Climate Change and Zero Waste Team and flooding and harbours team)
- TCV (The Conservation Volunteers)
This is also an opportunity for these organisations to hear from you, raise your concerns and for them to map where flooding is taking place.
IMPORTANT! This year Flo -a specially designed mobile exhibition vehicle that provides accessible advice, resources and hands-on examples of flood resilience (Meet Flo | Flood Protection | Flood Re) will be at the event from 5:30pm
