Delighted to be kicking off our autumn season with a wonderful floral appliqué class from creative tutor Alexandra Hucks. Alex's classes are truly inspiring in the way she mixes fabrics with decorative touches, and this time around she will be introducing new techniques with silk flowers and braiding.
The session will start with sketching and discussion about composition and colour, where you'll take inspiration from Lewis & Wood's vast array of floral designs and displays of fresh flowers. You will then learn all about the decorative techniques before selecting fabric pieces to begin your own panel.
Smaller pieces can be completed on the day, you are very welcome to embark on a larger piece to continue at home too. Your finished piece could be used as a cushion panel or displayed as artwork and we will offer advice about this on the day.
We hope that you will come along and enjoy some creative time in our wonderful Top Floor space. A delicious lunch and afternoon tea and cake are included.
