Event description

Description

The Flourishing Lives Reflective Practice Groups are aimed at arts, health and wellbeing professionals working within community contexts.

Whether you work in a day centre, arts organisation, clinical setting, outreach initiative or in freelance community arts, you are very welcome to join us.

We are delighted to be working alongside our partners at Ben Uri Gallery & Museum who will be the regular hosts of our North London Group.

This will be a closed group of up to 8 practitioners and will provide a rich and deep reflective space for your practice.

Reflective Practice

The group aims to provide a safe space for in-depth reflection on working practice: a space in which to step back and reflect on complex professional and supportive relationships and to discuss any aspect of your work and role including individual cases, approaches to engagement, and clinical and organisational dilemmas.

The group provides a forum in which to share ideas and to hear from practitioners from different professional backgrounds as to how they manage similar tensions in their roles and practice. It offers a structure of support where the experience of all members of the group is the conduit and catalyst for learning and exploration.

Group Facilitator: Samantha Chilvers

Samantha Chilvers is a non-directive Art Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Lecturer and currently works in the clinical areas of Personality Disorder (Community Mental Health), Older People’s Mental Health and Palliative Care in both NHS and charity settings. She is Lead Researcher conducting a mixed methods research study on Art Therapy for people living with Cancer as Senior Art Therapist at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. She has worked within the field of mental health for 15 years.

Ben Uri Gallery & Museum

Ben Uri Gallery and Museum is dedicated to positive engagement with the widest public at large. They actively partner museums and community groups to engage and partner audiences, both young and old - near and far, in exploring contemporary issues through art. We are extremely grateful for Ben Uri Gallery's invaluable support in hosting our North London Group. You can read more about Ben Uri Gallery's inspiring work here: https://www.benuri.org.uk.
