About this event

Come to Waterstones in Brighton to start your day with painting flowers in Watercolour!

In this class I will show you a step by step process of how to paint the flower by using different watercolour techniques.

These classes are suitable for all levels. We are aiming to learn watercolours, rather than to already be a master at them. Each page we make we write 'experiments page' across the top as a reminder that the page is a place for learning and making mistakes and not creating our final master piece.

Each week we will have a new theme:

These classes are suited to a range of levels, we will be painting from imagination and learning techniques on how to 'doodle with watercolours' and will be in more of an illustrative style. This can be great for those with an interest in illustration who might want to explore their style further in watercolour.

All materials are supplied 🖌️ 🎨

REFUNDS:

Unfortunately eventbrite takes a cut of the ticket event if the ticket is refunded. Which means I would be losing money. So I'm unable to offer a full refund. So there is a choice between these things:

1) I can transfer your ticket to a different week of your choice

2) I can refund you but it will be a few quid and pence less!

Refunds and transfers must be requested at least 12 hours before the event starts.

YOUR TUTOR

Hi I'm Zara who's behind Ginger Green. I started teaching watercolours in March 2023 which is exciting because its almost been a whole year! Three times a week I run beginner watercolour classes where each session we have a different theme, generally to do with nature. This year I'm looking forward to running day courses, or some courses that span over a few weeks where we can get really stuck in to a particular subject.

My background is in illustration which I studied in Bristol from 2016 - 2019. I have previously worked in a bit of editorial illustration under the name 'Zara Wilkins' and also help to organise Brighton Illustration Fair.

The thing I love most about watercolours is that it is so versatile and beautiful. There are so many different ways that it can be used, so many effects that you can create with different levels of water, pigment, paper weights and brushes. There doesn't really seem to be an end to what you can do with it. Teaching this year has been such an amazing introduction for me into the breadth of watercolour and I'm really excited to just paint with you and see where 2024 takes us!
