About Fly Girl Collective
Launched in 2018 by runner + life and wellness coach Matilda Egere-Cooper, Fly Girl Collective is a community that encourages more black and brown women to pursue a wellness lifestyle. `In 2020, Sport England's 'Sports for All' report found that, due to deep-rooted inequalities, people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds are far less likely to be physically active. Our runs are for black women and WOC only to remedy the gap.
Frequently asked questions
Not at all. This series is about mindset and movement—not pace or performance. If you can jog or run/walk 5K comfortably, or you’re working towards it, you’re more than welcome.
Each session includes a warm-up, a 5K run or run/walk, paired reflections based on a weekly mindset theme, and a cool-down. It’s relaxed, supportive and designed to help you feel good—mentally and physically.
Yes! We offer a limited number of drop-in tickets for £8. If you love it (and we think you will), you can upgrade to the full series.
You’re welcome to engage in paired reflections, but nothing is forced. Some weeks you might feel like chatting, other weeks you might just want to listen, reflect and move in silence. Do what feels right for you.
Just wear comfortable running gear, bring water, and show up ready to move and reflect. We'll provide the mindset prompts and all the good vibes
Life happens—we get it. If you’ve booked the full 8-week series and need to miss a session, you’ll still get the weekly theme and prompt via email so you can reflect in your own time.
This space is created by and for Black women and WOC, centring our wellness, voices and lived experiences. If that resonates with you, you’re welcome here.
Unless it’s unsafe (e.g. thunder or icy conditions), we run rain or shine. We’ll always let you know by 4:00 PM on the day if anything changes.
Absolutely—just make sure they book a ticket too. All participants need to be registered before attending.
Tickets are non-refundable, but if you're unable to attend after booking, you can transfer your spot to a friend—just drop us an email to update the name.
This is group-style coaching in motion: you’ll reflect on guided prompts while walking or running in pairs. Each theme is rooted in mindset, confidence, and personal growth.
This series is a taster of the Fly Girl group coaching experience. While it’s not 1:1 coaching, you’ll get a feel for Matilda’s approach. Interested in going deeper? You’ll have the chance to book a free coaching discovery call with Matilda during or after the series.
Absolutely—just think of it as your midweek shakeout run with a bonus mindset boost. It pairs beautifully with race training because it helps you stay mentally strong and grounded.
